Shanell Oliver
FOUNDER/CEO – DNN
Shanell Oliver is an American journalist and founder of the Diaspora News Network. After earning her B. A in Communications from Chicago State University, she moved to New York City, where she was admitted into the prestigious NBC Page Program; she went on to work at MSNBC and contributed to the then MSNBC-owned digital news site, “The Grio.”
She later worked at various boutique production companies, and in 2022, was tapped to host and produce a news entertainment show called “What’s Really Going On” with Chicago’s first and only Black-owned broadcast television station, SWAAGTV. Shanell is excited to host and produce “Africa The Beautiful,” a docu-series aimed at highlighting the people, places, and history of the world’s oldest inhabited continent.

Christian Uche
HEAD OF OPERATIONS (Africa) – DNN
Christian Uche, a filmmaker and cinematographer from Ghana, is committed to using stories as a powerful tool for positive change. He believes that through his work, he can contribute to a better world by sharing compelling narratives that highlight the richness and diversity of African culture. He is also extremely engaged with building communities through video partnerships, empowering youth and communities to tell their own stories.
Christian has collaborated with several notable figures and organizations, including African Afrobeats singer Wizkid, content creator Kai Cenat, the platform Earn Your Leisure, music executive Wayne Barrow, and Spotify. These collaborations underscore his influential role in the industry and his commitment to elevating stories and voices from Africa.

Greg Rogers
DESIGN DIRECTOR – DNN
Greg has worked in the marketing and design industry for nearly 20 years. He’s lead the creative direction and successful execution of many major advertising campaigns. His time in advertising has seen him direct campaigns of several Fortune 100 companies including Nissan, Verizon, and many more.
Greg attended Boston University and the Creative Circus. Greg's awareness of fashionable trends has kept him at the cutting edge of the industry, and he is continually developing his abilities to bring innovative ideas to his work.
